As the online meeting starts, write up directions to all participants that they need to find three objects from around their home that match three particular conditions. Here’s some possible conditions that work well, but feel free to make up your own!

…you received as a gift, and tell us about the person who gave it to you.

…has the most entertaining story behind it.
…comes from the furthest away.
…doesn’t belong to you, and tell us why you have it.
…is the most unique.
…you’ve had for the longest.
…is the most unexpected or out of place.
…you think everyone ought to own, but doesn’t.”
Once everyone has arrived and had a chance to scavenge the objects, start the conference with a round of introductions. As well as giving their name, job title, and whatever other standard pieces of info you request, tell each participant to introduce the items they’ve found too, and why it meets the criterion you set out above. You’ll get to hear some wonderful tales that will provide a far better insight into each participant’s personality than the standard bland virtual event entertainment options!
